As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community involvement and ensure the smooth operation of club activities, Acacia Ridge FC is introducing a new Volunteer Levy starting from the 2026 season. The levy, set at $50 per player registration, aims to encourage members to actively participate in the club’s day-to-day activities and support its growing operations.
The Reason Behind the Volunteer Levy
Running a successful and expanding football club requires significant effort, and the club relies heavily on the contributions of its volunteer base, including the dedicated committee members. To address the increasing demands and ensure the sustainability of club operations, the Volunteer Levy has been implemented. This initiative is not a means to fund general club expenses but rather a strategic approach to foster volunteerism and community spirit within the club.
How the Volunteer Levy Works
The $50 levy will be automatically included in the registration fees for each player. Players and families that choose to volunteer will have the opportunity to earn a refund of the levy by contributing their time to various approved tasks throughout the season. Those who decide not to volunteer will forfeit the levy which will be retained by the club.
Qualifying for a Volunteer Levy Refund
Refunds will be issued to players and families meeting the following criteria:
- A family member serves as a Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager or Committee Member*.
- For other roles, a family member must contribute at least five hours during the season in one or more of the following capacities:
- Participation in working bees organised by the Committee
- Assisting with planning or running functions and carnivals
- Supporting fundraising events
- Providing canteen/bar assistance
- Cleaning – such as toilets, change rooms, vacuum the club room, sweep the paths.
- Offering administrative support for approved activities
- Acting as a Ground Official
- Undertaking other significant tasks as approved by the Committee
* Those taking on significant roles with the club will be entitled to a full refund of their registration fees, at the digression of the committee.
Tasks such as setting up or taking down goals, providing half-time refreshments, or attending games and training do not qualify for a refund.
How is the Levy refund administered?
A timesheet will be available in the clubhouse where you can record your volunteer hours.
All entries will be recorded in 1 hour blocks and will need to be signed off by the volunteer manager on duty.
At the conclusion of the season, families who believe they have sufficiently volunteered shall complete an Application for Refund of Levy. Once approved the money will be returned to them.
